I wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look at how I make my podcast episodes. My goal from the start was to build a workflow that keeps things simple, effective, and manageable to run every single week without overcomplicating the setup.
Here is my exact step-by-step process.
Ideas come from a mix of reading a lot and listening to podcasts by leaders like Craig Groeschel and Dave Ramsey.
For some reason, my best ideas usually hit right before bed. When that happens, I grab whatever scraps of paper I can find, write down the idea, and pin it straight onto a corkboard in my room. When it’s time to plan for the week, I look through my corkboard notes and decide which topic makes the most sense for that week's episode.
I usually start preparing for each week’s episode as early as Thursday.
I take the topic from my corkboard and write out a script. Fine-tuning the script takes some time because I want to make sure the structure flows nicely and hits all the points I want to cover before hitting record.
When it’s time to record, I keep the tech setup as frictionless as possible: I use the Apple Voice Memos app right on my phone because it's super easy.
It rarely happens in one clean take. I stumble, stutter, and re-try lines all the time until it sounds right. That’s just part of the process.
Once recording is done, I download the raw audio file and upload it to Adobe Podcast Enhance (podcast.adobe.com).
It cleans up the audio, strips out static, background noise, and echo, making the phone recording sound like it was recorded on a professional mic setup.
Next, I take the enhanced audio file and bring it into CapCut or Canva.
I add in the intro and outro music tracks to give the episode its finished feel. After everything is placed, I download the final edit and convert it into a .wav file.
Before uploading, I handle two last assets:
Description: I write out the description text for Spotify so listeners know what the episode covers.
Cover Art: I open Canva and update the cover art, keeping the visual style consistent from episode to episode.
I upload the .wav file, description, and cover art to Spotify and release the episode every Saturday.
After the episode drops:
Social Media: I post an announcement on social media letting everyone know the new episode is live.
Analytics: Throughout the week, I monitor performance on Spotify for Creators.
Google Indexing: I occasionally search the episode title on Google just to make sure the latest release is being properly indexed and updated online.
You can tune in every Saturday by searching for The Logan Mascarenhas Show on Spotify!
